Happy Holidays and Good Cheer!

This was the year that I lived life on 3 continents! Amazing year!

In January I visited our friends the Reiters in Iowa for our yearly search for eagles and swans migrating along the Des Moines River. Later in the month, Keelia and I went to NYC to visit Wyeth and Sarah for a wonderful long weekend in exploring and eating our way around New York.

The next week I flew to Stuttgart to spend 7 wonderful weeks with Whitney, Klaus and the kids. We celebrated Charlotte’s 6th birthday and Henry’s 4th birthday with parties. Ski lessons in Bavaria, baking cookies, visits with Klaus’ parents, horseback riding lessons for Charlotte and bicycle riding lessons for Henry were some of our highlights. John came to visit for a week and we traveled by train to Strasbourg, France for an overnight trip.

In May, John and I experienced a trip-of-a-lifetime to Africa where we stay in two safari camps in Botswana, one camp in Zambia and one camp in Zimbabwe. We took a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, a 27 hour trip on The Blue Train from Pretoria to Cape Town, South Africa and a days drive around the Cape of Good Hope and through the winelands of South Africa.

In June I packed up the suburban and headed west to Colorado for the summer. Our family resort, Little Squaw Resort, was my home for the summer. My studio/shop is 10 miles downstream. I loved the drive each day passing beautiful valleys, lakes, an occasional moose, deer, eagles, herons, even pelicans and falcons. Summer was an exceptional year for hunting chanterelles (mushrooms) and having moose come near the cabin. Business was great and I spent my days at the studio following my passion for art and creating.

In October, I had total knee replacement surgery. I’m grateful to John for being such a great caregiver. Each day brings more flexibility and endurance. Not being able to drive for two months has been a humbling experience. I’m looking forward to walking on many more continents in the future!

My wish for each of you is a year of peace, love and joy! Feeling gratitude for each of your friendships.
