2017-Brielle & Chris

Happy Holidays!

2017 was a year of reflection, adventure and family! I’ve been in Denver more than 6 years and sometimes it feels like I just arrived yesterday. Chris and I have taken advantage of living close to the mountains and enjoy camping and fishing out in nature. For the second year, we participated in the Denver Paper Fashion Show with our friend Jen, designing a dress make entirely of paper. It made a big splash on the runway! It was so fun to see flat sheets of paper come to life!

I spent 12 days walking 175 miles on the Camino de Santiago with my best friend from college, Kate. The adventure was a huge test of mental and physical strength. I truly enjoyed meeting people along the way and sharing a part of each day experiencing something new. We averaged walking about 15 miles a day. I’m pretty sure I don’t need to walk that far again, but it’s good to know that I can if I need to!

We had a great time at Wyeth & Sarah’s wedding and then spending time with both of our families together in Florida for a little vacation. Chris and I also went to Arizona for a short trip in the fall. With a few days in Phoenix and a few days in Flagstaff, we spent time going back to the Killip roots visiting Killip Elementary and the Grand Canyon.

I also celebrated my 40th birthday this year! I’m pretty sure I remember when my mom & dad turned 40! My friends helped me celebrate by spending some time at an axe throwing bar. If you have a chance to check one of those places out, it’s worth it!

I continue to love running my own design business, Blue Linen Creative. My goal of serving as companies’ creative director and designer when they do not have anyone in house to fill that role has become a reality. My goal for 2017 was to expand my work through building partnerships with other companies and people that compliment my design services. Half way through the year, I had that “aha” moment when I realized my goal was taking shape better than I had ever imagined. I’m nurturing relationships with people in Denver I love working with every day. My work tribe is strong and supportive.

We hope that 2018 greets you with health, happiness and hope.
