2017 was filled with love, joy and gratitude! ……and new experiences, new friends, new perspectives and most of all celebration of family and friends!

January-February An incredible trip for 3 weeks to Peru. Our friends, Peter and Mary Ann Reiter from Iowa had done the trip before and said they would go again with us. Rodger Suchman joined in with 8 other people mainly from Minnesota. Our leaders, Melanie Ebertz and Jeff Nistler, guided us on a trip of a lifetime through Lima, Arequipa, Colca Canyon, Yanque, Canyon of the Condors, Puno, Cusco, Taquile Island in Lake Titicaca, The Sacred Valley, Chinchero, Machu Picchu and finally back to Lima.

March A long weekend in Ottumwa with my friend, Tammie Devine, visiting Peter and Mary Ann, and exploring southern Iowa. Backroads and areas less travelled led us to images of the past and simple living. We were always on the lookout for eagles along the Des Moines River and flocks of migrating swans in the fields. Towards the end of March I travelled with my friend, Cathy Ledeker, to Creede to set up the new gallery at The Studios at Bristol. My sister, Teri and her husband, Rick, moved to Grand Junction after living in the Creede area since the 70’s. I have taken on leasing the building back from the new owner for my shop, gallery space and studio. We also enjoyed the mineral hot springs in Pagosa Springs.

April A weekend trip to Cincinnati to celebrate with Sarah and Wyeth with pre-wedding showers and activities.

May A trip to Bentonville with 30 college sorority sisters for a long weekend. We visited Crystal Bridges which is a wonderful museum.

June The wedding weekend of Wyeth and Sarah in Cincinnati was a joy to be part of. Celebrating with family and friends the entire weekend was magical. It was a weekend to be remembered and recounted for years to come.

While Wyeth and Sarah honeymooned in Bali and Thailand, the rest of use “familymooned” in Florida for a week. I loved spending so much time together at the beach and at the house with a pool that we rented for a week.

Mid-June -Mid September I returned to Colorado for 17 weeks. Little Squaw Resort had the best season ever and it was great to see so many returning families. My shop, studio and gallery also had the best season yet. I spent much of my time creating leather bracelets for customers. I am so grateful for my customers who return year after year and bring along new friends.

Returing to KC, preparations for the October celebrations were filling our days.

November and December days were filled with working on angel ornaments to fill orders and hosting a couple of Christmas parties.

I’m grateful for all of our family and friends who helped make 2017 a special year to remember.
